Blooming Dyes

Join me for this mini-workshop which celebrates the bright, radiant colors of the dye flowers growing in the garden. We'll be exploring the colors of marigolds, two types of cosmos, coreopsis and scabiosa for printing, dyeing, and painting. 

During this 2.5 hour workshop, we will dye and then print two pillowcases that you can take home with you and play with flower-based inks while waiting for the bundles to steam!  A creative morning where you can effortlessly create with the plants growing in the garden.  A workshop with no theory, just a fun and creative experience to let go, connect with the plants, and make something truly beautiful. 

Participants will take home their two pillowcases, their natural ink works on paper, and seeds from the plants we've worked with. Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be available. 

Spaces are limited to 8 people.

How do I get there?

The workshop will be held at Tinctorium Studio in Abóboda, São Domingos de Rana (close to Carcavelos!). By public transport you can take the train from Lisbon to Carcavelos (line to Cascais from Cais do Sodré) and you can do the last bit by bus or uber/bolt. I will do my best to create another solution to coordinate a pickup at the station, so let me know in the registration if you'd appreciate that.  

What language will the workshop be taught in?

The workshop will be taught in English and Portuguese.

Do I need to bring anything?

All materials are included in the enrollment price, but it's recommended to bring a pen and something to write on, appropriate clothing that can get dirty, and a hat or sunscreen since we will be outside.

What if I have to cancel?

Ticket purchases are fully refundable up to a week before the start of the workshop, 50% reimbursement within the week, and no reimbursement within 48 hours.

There is an enormous amount of preparation and planning that goes into each workshop so, unfortunately, I'm unable to fulfill refunds in the days leading up. If you can't make it last minute, I recommend finding someone who would love to spend the day creating color from plants to take your place. Thank you for your understanding.
